The Aquatic Organism Passage Huzzah Creek Brickley Bank project, undertaken with the US Department of Agriculture Forest Service, focused on implementing critical stormwater improvements at a low water crossing along Huzzah Creek.

Two Alpha Contracting’s scope of work encompassed a comprehensive range of construction and environmental restoration activities. These included: construction surveying, effective dewatering operations, precise excavation, careful placement and compaction of excavated streambed and bank materials, furnishing and installation of Class 3 riprap for bank stabilization, streambed regrading to optimize water flow, harvesting and mobilization of tree materials for habitat enhancement, construction of log jams and structures to promote aquatic habitat, end haul and disposal of excess materials, the addition of a gravel surface to the parking area, and the installation of soil and erosion control measures.

The primary objective of this project was to address and mitigate stream bank erosion and instability, thereby protecting and enhancing the habitat for the diverse wildlife inhabiting Huzzah Creek. By implementing these stormwater improvements, the project successfully restored ecological function and ensured the continued health of this vital waterway.
